Dorms 101

Did you know that MLS(to the right) was said to be haunted? Would that  lure you to live there or scare you away to the opposite side of campus to a comfy, cozy wood dorm named Burbank? Did you know that the dorm parents of ECO will encourage you to use less hot water and recycle? Would you be attracted to the energy geeks in ECO or would that make you want to run across the yard to the laid back, energy consuming Carr house?

PROS AND CONS

MLS has its ups and downs, but if you are a musician or a person that loves the theater and are looking for a mystery, this dorm is for you. It is located right next to the music studio and the theater. It is also located in a good spot on campus that is central compared to dorms like Thoreau house, Johnson, Burbank, and Summerfield. The cons of this dorm is the rooms are fairly small and it is an old building. Connor Toomey states “It's awful.”  It might not compare to Carr , but it is still one of the top dorms on campus because of its location.

Carr house  is what many consider the king of dorms. It’s inhabitants are mostly varsity athletes and upperclassmen. The pros are great dorm parenting with a cute puppy named Rondo. And the rooms are the biggest on campus. The cons is that it consumes a lot of energy because it’s extremely old and it is on a main road so you can hear the big trucks drive by at night.

Eco dorm has been called the “hippie” dorm by many and it is intimidating to some people by how “green” it is. But inhabitant Haley Gerber says, “People don’t understand it is just like every other dorm only with more privileges.”  The pros of this dorm are that it’s coed and room checks are lenient. The cons are you pretty much have to recycle. But inhabitants love to do that anyway.

MLS
Carr house - Carr house used to have a barn connected to it. The owner of that barn’s son died in it when he was little. Late at night you can hear the floor creak outside your room sometimes. Especially during Halloween.
Eco dorm- This dorm turns into a haunted house for Halloween. In reality it is far from haunted, it is a fairly new dorm and is up to date with every energy conserving appliance possible.
Burbank east/west -It's two dorms in one and has two sets of dorm parents. Skaters or boarders, this is a great dorm in the winter because of its rails and its mini hill.
