Sudden Death
3/6/2004

It's not everyone who gets to experience sudden death and then comment about it. For most of 45 minutes at Salem's charming Icenter Mike Walsh's Green Bees controlled the pace and space of things and seemed destined to repeat last year's stunning D-2 championship. After a quick score by an explosive South Kent squad, our boys tied:

The Bees tied it again on a single-handed effort by Ian Flanagan:

And held a 3-2 lead after this second period tally by Jay Anctil:

Late in the game, with the score tied, the boys seemed to tire ( a few had skated every other shift throughout the contest). In OT, it was all South Kent, and when Josh Robertson took a tough knee to the thigh and sat down in the first minute, you could sense what was coming. These boys have played a lot of hockey games this year, and won 14 in a row. They deserve our congratulations for representing Proctor with pride and poise.
