The last final exam was Friday morning, bringing conclusion to the winter trimester and the start of Spring Break.

At their best, final exams represent the culmination of ten weeks of focused work.

For those seniors who will be spending the spring term at Proctor in Spain or on Mountain Classroom, this is the end of the on-campus experience of Proctor (until graduation.) Saam--who will be on Mountain--used his final assembly to educate the community on school-generated carbon emissions, ending with a plea for responsible behavior.

Some math students retained their sense of humor during finals, modifying some "caution" tape to resemble a crime scene perpetrated by a "killer math problem." Tape on the floor outlines an apparently-slain human figure holding a calculator in one hand!

Oliver and Thomas balance the pressures of exams with some time in the recording studio.

Here's the deal with snowballs: the recipient needs to be willingly playing along, (like Connor, here, who is getting pummeled from close range by Annie.)

The Performance Choir will be touring Coatia and Bosnia Herzigovina over the latter half of Spring Break, singing with local student choirs at each stop. They'll bring a repertoire including Croatian and Bosnian folk tunes (and will hone their accents on site!) as well as a set of classic American spirituals. This is the photo they chose for their brochure:

And this is the image they chose not to print:

Suddenly, it's over. At 11:45 AM, the busses rolled for Manchester and Boston, and campus is vacant until Project Period commences in two weeks.

The pace of postings on this site will slow over Break, but there may be some activity on the Student Voices site (linked from the top/left of this page,) as the Journalism class and the Performance Choir keep us posted on their work and activities. Check it out!
One last chance to plea for environmental responsibility before an adventure on Mountain Classroom.
That's one killer math problem!
