While I was away in Denver at the CASE/NAIS Conference, Ski jumping coach Tim Norris forwarded some articles and information regarding Nick Fairall '07, who moved up to the World Cup Circuit a couple of weeks ago, and is possibly the youngest jumper in the world at that level. Best U.S. Ski Jump in Five Years.
As a little kid, Nick began ski jumping for Tim Norris at Proctor's Blackwater Ski Area as a part of
Andover Outing Club. He continued, of course, over four years at Proctor. The other day, Nick's longest jump at the Kulm Ski Flying Hill was 525 feet! Check out this

Tim Norris adds the following: "If viewers watch the video of Nicholas, they will see that Nick puts his gloves up in from of the camera, and will notice that they say MRF on them which are his mother's initials. Marianne Fairall supported Nick in every way to develop his jumping career, contributing her tremendous energy and organizational ability to the Andover Outing Club and later Eastern Ski Jumping in general. When Marianne finally succumbed to cancer after a long and spirited battle, most everyone involved in Eastern Ski Jumping attended the service...."
