Sometimes, capturing photographs worth posting is a challenge. Then there are days when the Muse smiles on the lens, and images of interest come by the dozen. It helps that--after a long winter--April conditions draw us out of doors.

Indeed, the warmth of the sun and the advance of bare ground nurtures a kind of shared euphoria. You probably were going to guess this, but this photo shows nerve cell receptors (the colorful tubes) simultaneously triggering a signal (Evan) that must dash through the cell (across some grass) and leap across a synaptic gap (the walkway) to stimulate the next set of receptors to do the same:

Just north of Slocumb Hall, in the center of campus, we're surveying the site of a hypothetical new construction. Geordie and Justine keep a level line taught while Bones shows how to dangle a plumb bob.

These young ladies missed a nutritional breakfast in the dining room, but they've scored at Jake's Market!

It may be nice out, but the truth is that only a few classes are held outside. This is a crowded hallway between classes in Shirley Hall (social sciences and sciences.)

There's work to do. Chris and Eric are observing and graphing the temperature at which dissolved potassium chloride (a salt) crystalizes as it cools.

Up in the third floor (a functional attic) of the boatshop, Ben--who has been working on this beautiful cedar strip canoe since September--and Greg Allen strategize how to prepare the hull for an inserted piece.

Lunch time.

Then, it's back to the grind.....

The walk up to breakfast.
Great weather for surveying a building site!
Scott gets work done on the north side of a young maple.
Mark Tremblay addresses his class outside the Wise Community Center.
On the main floor of the Alan Shepard Boathouse, Zach works on his kayak.
Upstairs, in an attic-like space, Will works on his sea kayak.
Spencer is actually on a skateboard.
Like these two.
It's a great time to be learning stuff!
