These are the quietest moments of the year at this place. Most faculty are away persuing professional development, distant adventures or vacation. You might think that I would put the camera down and spare us all the profound sense of inertia that hovers over Andover at this time, but no. Dozens of summer campers are playing softball on Farrell and Leonard Fields.

The area around Holland Auditorium is a mess, as that building is gutted for the new student center. Cyclone fencing surrounds the whole thing, with signs telling us to put on hard hats, keep out and stop smoking.

Congratulations to Josh Robertson '04, who was selected by the Washington Capitols of the National Hockey League in the recent draft.

Josh will be wearing the Green & White this winter, and plans to play for Northeastern before skating for the Caps.

Campers are competing in a softball tournament on the football field.
The Zamboni rests on concrete in the Teddy Maloney Rink. Plans are to make ice in time for a hockey camp here next month.
With the school fully enrolled for weeks, Admission honcho Chris Bartlett chats with other DOAs in air conditioned comfort from Charlie's desk.
