At 8:30 this morning, sophomores and juniors dutifully reported for the Preliminary Scolastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, otherwise known as the PSAT/NMSQT.
It's not a generally pleasant experience--even for those who will score very well--but it is a very real part of the college preparatory process.
Ninth graders spent the morning in a variety of alternative activities, while seniors got down to the business of college research and applications. Here's Chelsea with the Dartmouth website open.
The college placement process is accelerating, as early action becomes increasingly atttractive to colleges and universities. (Some might ask, "Who is being served?") In any case, teachers are cranking out recommendations earlier than ever, and Joey's getting some advise from Michele Koenig.
Tristan's feeling pretty comfortable about the proceedings.
Before afternoon sports and activities commenced, students enjoyed an hour or two to regroup. I was flattered to be asked to shoot photos for Britt and her very good friends.
One of these might make it into her yearbook page, and I suspect that some prints will be shared.
