My experience is that more formal schools orchestrate alumni/ae reunions that are more formal. While we offer plenty of activities and tours, Proctor reunions are appropriately focused on the human interaction of new and old friends and faculty.
Back for reunions, classmates who were not particularly close are suddenly fascinated with one another's lives, exchanging addresses, and looking forward to future contact. Back for their twentieth, John Duke and Hull Maynard.
Members of the Class of 1992, Andrew Donaldson (Assistant Dean of Students) and Corby Leith are pictured below. You'll see more of Corby in the next Corner, which documents a special tribute to retiring Bert Hinkley.
Rather than marshall classes around together, we offer all kinds of optional activities: kayaking on the Pemi, tours, swimming at Elbow Pond, ultimate Frisbee, endless food and--later--dancing.
Jason Stebbins '87 is coaxed by his daughter to take the plunge at Elbow. "C'mon, dad, the water's warm!"
The Class of 2002 returned in numbers, enjoying freedoms recently forbidden.
The great Class of 1987 was better behaved!
