Monday, April 9 was cold and windy, with snow squalls. Today's page documents our coping skills.

It's a good day to be working inside. Alex is building a small, flat-bottomed sailing skiff out of marine-grade plywood, and is modifying it for a Penguin mast and a possible trapeze. The outrig will make the pram bow a fast, blunt, wet hammer in the chop of Sippican Harbor, where Alex sails.

Back in the Wise Center, a warm couch attracts a crowd.

It's Eric's birthday. Eric has received an inflatable birthday cake. But this isn't Eric with the birthday inflatable. It's Johnny, who has patched (with Scotch tape) the holes Nick stabbed in the bottom of the cake. We're heading down Lawrence Street to Thoreau House.

Afternoon activities and sports are tough on a cold, cloudy April day. The kayakers persevere on the Blackwater River, just upstream from campus.

The Cycling team starts out from the hockey rink parking lot, where varsity girls lacrosse is practicing.

It's a cold, windy mid-April day in Andover.
It's a good day to be in biology...
...or Spanish.
This must be a tough problem.
The woodshop is warm and dry.
Greg has a word of advice for Dennis.
Thayer demonstrates some emerging skills.
In the Fitness Center, Hunter shows off a right arm of steel on this chin-up, which he executes without a grimace.
