Tree Huggers and Roadkill
4/19/2003

Suspicion that this place is crawling with tree huggers was confirmed over Earth Day. Proof positive:

Our crowd in Spain continues to share images of Spanish culture. Here is a typical scene on Las Ramblas, Barcelona's colorful boulevard. The guy with the knives in his maw is sitting on the proverbial bed of nails.

We don't know what happens next.

The family of a Californian boy recently admitted to Proctor stumbled upon our Mountain Classroom group at Big Sur recently, and forwards the photo at the lower right. They report that our students and teachers were having a blast "learning to skin and cure animals." I assume they skin the ones they can't cure. Anyways, the dad reports "I found the group as they were taking apart a mountain lion (roadkill), a rattlesnake (also roadkill) and a sea otter" which we assume was not roadkill.

One popular activity on Earth day was a violent game of dodgeball.

Here's Horton really trying to be good by not walking through the mandala made of birdseed.
He really tried.
