Tale of Two Teams
2/19/2003

Wednesday is a game day, and we have teams traveling as far as Milton and Marion, Massachusetts for contests. Saturday was a game day, too, and lots of PA teams were victorious. Girls basketball beat Vermont Academy; girls ice hockey bested Pingree; boys varsity hockey beat Hebron. I drove 20 minutes to Tilton, New Hampshire to see two Proctor basketball teams play two very different games. In the matinee, JV boys showed up for the second half and earned a one point win. The Rams were driving with seconds remaining when Yuji stepped in for the steal.

It's a fun team to watch. Here are some high fives after the buzzer.

The late game was for the Lakes Region Championship, and a good game seemed likely. The green bees, however, took command right from the start, and ended up scoring twice as many points as their opponents. It was a clinic, both on offense and D, and the dominance is reflected in this successful rebound:

T.C. inbounds in the JV thriller.
In the varsity game, Dave rolled his ankle on a rebound early, but came back to play a torrid defense.
Stevie--who has played more varsity basketball games than any player in Proctor history--is an explosive field general.
Evan was unstoppable, and on fire from outside the 3-point circle.
