You Do the Math
2/17/2003

If a Beanie Baby on a tether comprised of 10 elastic bands looped together falls x feet, then how many elastic bands do you want for it to fall 51.5 feet from the top rail in the atrium? Oh: if it touches the floor, you lose. Let's do the math:

It's an application of linear equations. Below, John helps Patty Pond's daughter Caroline ready a Beanie Baby for the plunge:

Today's assembly featured the dynamic four-woman percussion/vocal ensemble "Voices of Africa."

They were great, but--unlike the Drifters, who kept saying "You're the greatest audience!"--these ladies repeatedly tried to motivate us into a frenzy by insisting that we were emotionally flat and unresponsive. It's a peculiar strategy: berate your audience....

You get to prep your Beanie Baby anyway you like.
Two Beanie Babies are falling toward my camera here.
The winner: Captain America.
Buddy enjoys the proceedings from the floor of the atrium.
