I am experiencing an intense, almost uncomfortable glut of visual images, and am considering opening up the sluices for a few days and letting my files disengorge. You may want to visit more often this week to keep pace. The problem starts with tons of stuff happening on campus. On Saturday every free-style snowboarder attending a Lakes Region school was here at the Blackwater, speaking a language foreign to most of us, negotiating a new terrain park, catapulting into space.

If I understand it correctly, they're earning style points for everything. I would have a tough time awarding anything but a full score for the stuff I witnessed.

Below, a gnarly dude rides a "rainbow" with Yarrow's Lodge in the background.

When a contestant is too hurt to get up, the Blackwater Ski Patrol comes to the rescue.

It seems you want to grab your board while careening through space for points.
This contestant landed very poorly, and was forced to withdraw for the day.
"Darn, this isn't going right at all...."
The Ski patrol was ready to respond to this jump.
There's a nice view of Ragged Mountain.
Ian demonstrates a far more dangerous sport.
