Parents are here for Spring Family Weekend. They come from every corner of the nation--some from thousands of miles--to experience life at Proctor first-hand. Today, Friday, they are immersed in classes.
For many, the financial sacrifice of boarding school pales in comparison to the emotional toll of physical distance. This weekend accomplishes much more than parent/teacher conferences and class visits. It is an opportunity to delve into a child's life by hanging out in the dorm room, eating lunch with other parents and meeting entire peer groups.
Due to the extraordinary breadth of the curriculum, parents gain an appreciation for their child's specific set of electives.
It's a chance to sense the pace of life here... hectic work, and recreation.
If they're lucky, they might see Jared riding the electric motorcycle he has spent so much time finishing!
