Boys basketball advances to the NEPSAC Finals after beating Tilton 68-60. They take on St. Andrews Sunday at Loomis Chaffee in Windsor, CT at 3:00. Boy's hockey advances to the finals, after beating #1 ranked Brooks School 6-4. They play Hebron Sunday in the Championship game at 12:30 at the Salem ICenter.

The girls' ice hockey team finished with a record of 18 wins, 7 losses and 2 ties. Under the guidance of first-year coach Christina Dotchin, every skating player on this unselfish team scored a goal.

Playing in their final game of the season, seniors Erin Davey and Maya Holmberg scored goals; poetic justice on a team that voted Captain Davey Most Valuable Player, and Maya the recipient of the Coach's Award.

Meanwhile, junior Sara Paulshock is one of the leading scored in Division II, and Melanie "Woburn" Spears was immense between the pipes, making 613 saves and allowing only 56 goals in 1260 minutes, to lead the entire Division with a save percentage of 916! Ninth graders contributed mightily to this squad, and we look forward to a great season next year. Congratulations to Christina, and to a team that thrilled fans (parents!) with a great season.

The title of this page is Women's Hockey because the Teddy Maloney is home to many teams. Late on Sunday afternoons, long after the crowds have gone, a spirited if-not-agile amalgam of women take to the ice. They're known (to themselves) as the Icecababes.

After a prolonged period of stretching, they break into two teams, and play a brand of hockey rarely seen at prep schools. Referees are no where in sight, as is clear from this slash administered by Amy Poulin Rheaume'90.....

What's this?!
One of many differences between girls' hockey and women's: the Icecababes have an inspirational reading in the locker room before taking to the ice....
Icecababes do an inordinate amount of stretching before play begins.
A diminutive goal keeps the score within the human mind's capacity to count.
Another distinction: the stands are--well--empty.
