Scoring Emotion
5/13/2005

The end of the year brings plenty of emotion, and a lot of love has been communicated in recent days. This morning, the 2005 yearbook was dedicated to Ronan Gould, who--for 25 years--has been dishing up love and good food from the snack bar (and now the Wise Community Center.) Ronan lost her husband to cancer this winter, and will be retiring in a couple of weeks. It was a perfect selection.

And in Thursday's assembly, our super School Leaders pulled off a tribute to Steve and Sarah Wilkins.

Steve and Sarah sat front & center while a dozen students volunteered recollections of the Wilkins' impact on their lives.

Then the whole school stood and joined the chorus in a rendition of "You've Got a Friend." Earlier, the jazz band played.

Varsity baseball continues to excel (coming from behind with two outs in the last inning to win 17-16 yesterday!) cheered on by some adoring fans:

Coach Dwight Erickson will point out it's a team sport, and he's right...
but much of baseball's success comes from the arm of senior Mike Bourque...
who has notched a string of complete game wins...
and is the most dominant pitcher some of us can remember.
