Proctor can be described as relatively egalitarian, meaning that class identity is not a big deal. Dorms are mixed, so there are no ninth grade or senior dorms. Chemistry enrolls plenty of juniors, but a few sophomores and seniors, too. No special rules apply to freshmen, and senior privileges are few. Student leaders have now organized a kind of spirit week, and it started today with each class wearing a different color to promote class pride. Ninth graders are sporting red:

Sophomores are in green; juniors black and seniors blue.

The whole thing is voluntary, but it's remarkable how many are participating in the contest (it's theoretically a competition.)

The weather has improved. Bob Livingston's World War II class enjoyed a pizza lunch on the steps of Shirley Hall recently.

And the competition on Carr Beach is intense:

And what color did students decide faculty must wear? Pink, of course....
Juniors, like Charlie (right) and Eddie (left, in gorilla suit) are supposed to be wearing black.
Water colors.
