La Fete de Betes
4/13/2005

This page explores some recent classroom creativity. French 1 students are expanding their vocabulary, and--specifically--adjectives. Today, in an exercise called La Fete de Betes (festival of the beasts, or pet show,) they brought in fabricated pets, introduced them, and described them using adjectives such as sportif, intelligent, bizarre, sexy, beau, mignon, etc. Awards were presented by judges including the bizarre Rick Browner (right). A geometry class is copying the patterns used by Amerinds native to the Pacific Northwest in rugs and clothing. Sue Rochon covered this class on Monday, because Patty Pond was involved in a hajj to Kenmore Square that day.

Freshman Science produced clouds in plastic bottles. The clouds evaporate when the bottle is pressurized.

Surveying applies geometry and trig to real world measurement.

Her students work on Native American patterns while Patty completes a pilgrimage to Landsdown Street.
Nicola with Pentax.
What, me worry?
