While Proctor has attracted students from New York City for more than a century, the city attracts many more PA graduates. Trustee Geoff Morris '62 hosted a reception for 60 alumni and friends at Grand Central Station's Campbell Apartment Wednesday evening.

On Thursday evening, current parents Bruce and Patti Liebermen hosted a gathering of current and past parents at their lovely home on the Upper West Side. Patti spoke with emotion of her son's transformation at Proctor (after an unhappy year at another boarding school,) and Steve reflected on the strength of the school's current position as we anticipate transition of leadership.

This was followed by spontaneous remarks by attendees, including this thought-provoking question: Is Proctor's uniqueness imitatable by others? Responses cited the organic nature of the community--the degree to which our programs and policies have evolved from the people of Proctor.

Different topic: the student chorus has grown to 26 members under the direction of new teacher Kristofer Johnson, and Kris has announced a contest to name the group (you know...Yale has the Wiffenpoofs.)

The group-until-recently-known-as-Proctor Chorus will perform Sunday (tomorrow) at 3 PM in the Stone Chapel (not Norris Theater,) and the public is invited and welcome. In the meantime, email your moniker suggestions to kristofer_johnson@proctornet.com and qualify for great prizes (a set of steak knives?)
