All playing fields saw action Saturday afternoon and girls' teams excelled under low overcast skies. JVG soccer beat Kimball Union Academy 1-nil on Carr Field, while varsity grabbed a come-from-behind 3-2 contest on Farrell Field over a strong squad from KUA.
The lady hornets scored in the final minute of a gutsy, hard-fought game.
When Karen Cushman '78 died tragically several years ago, her parents created a lasting memorial to honor her happy years at Proctor by establishing the Karen L. Cushman '78 Memorial Scholarship in 1994. Christine Frazier '05, the recipient of the scholarship for the past three years, has grown increasingly close to Joan and Sandy Cushman. Joan and Sandy came up from Massachusetts yesterday to see Chris score a goal and assist on another, in Varsity Field Hockey's 4-0 win.
