Ann '85 and Matt Weir hosted a reception for twenty-two friends of Proctor aboard their yacht Sirenuse last night at Boston's Long Wharf. This was the first in a series of area gatherings to acknowledge the school's advancement during Steve's decade of leadership, and it drew some of Boston's most dedicated Proctorphiles. Our hostess, with daughter Charlotte:

This is the start of a three-year around-the-world tour for the Weirs. Their able crew includes Captain Sean Guinness '84. The decor aboard Sirenuse was Ann's work:

We gathered in the main salon for words of welcome by Ann, who introduced Steve. Steve observed that Proctor's unique qualities are expensive, and asked the school's greatest supporters to continue to endow these qualities.

Steve's remarks were followed by a series of spontaneous testimonials to his success and his love for Proctor. We thank Ann and Matt for an important and memorable evening!

Captain Sean Guinness '84 directed reconstruction of the 127' boat last year. His lovely wife, Christine, and daughter, Eliza, are aboard!
Eliza, who turns five next week, has a loose tooth.
Ann and Matt's son, Randy had a few words of wisdom for Keith Barrett '80.
Alumni Association czarina-for-life Alex Estin '83 chats with Captain Sean.
During Steve's tenure, the endowment has doubled while we have invested $27,000,000 into the physical plant. The Campaign ending May, 2003 raised $32,000,000.
He contrasted Proctor's educational values with those used in the recent Boston Magazine, which ranked Boston-area schools based on a formula of test scores and other arbitrary criteria.

John and Jan Fitzpatrick P '03, P '07 spoke of how much Steve meant to their decision to send their sons to Proctor, and how the school has only exceeded their expectations.
Bill Loring (back) P '96, P'99 listens as John Hall P'87 speaks of the school's prosperity in recent years.
Mark Cangiano P '07 and Edward Johnson '83. Steve recalled the times he visited Edward for his advice and wisdom.
