People with any connection to Proctor should feel great pride in the school following Saturday evening's historic reception at the Greenwich Boys and Girls Club. Our trustees privately funded and hosted an event that brought more than 350 friends of Proctor and friends of Teddy Maloney '88 together with one purpose: to build a hockey rink in his memory. As Board Chair Carl Oppenheim stated in his welcoming address, "We are here to do something that is right". It was an evening of great emotion, love, pride and tears.
Dozens of alumni attended--some from the local area, some from hundreds or thousands of miles--to connect with one another, and with faculty. Below, from left, Susan Eslick, trustee George Dow, Tom Eslick, Pam Dow.
Our beloved baker, Edna Peters--who once served as a surrogate grandmother to Teddy (and many others!)--brought more than 1000 chocolate chip cookies...baked on her own time...which she distributed to folks as they departed, wearing her newly-presented cook's jacket embroidered with "Edna's Cookies."
