Dangerous Sports.
Trustees arrive today, and will work in small groups with students over dessert this evening--exploring our cutomers' perspectives on substantive issues. Here's one: our varsity teams aren't winning 50% of their games. Is our mission impacted by this? If we do want to attract student athletes...how? Some argue that renovating athletic facilities (say, Farrell Fieldhouse, for example...) is a pressing concern. Others note that Proctor excels in specific athletic areas: x/c running, ski jumping, boys' basketball (just watch them this winter!), cycling, kayaking, and of course: skateboarding and mountainbiking.
