If greenhouse gasses are responsible for the warm and sunny autumn we are enjoying, I have an ethical crisis to confront. In yesterday's on-campus athletics, JV boys' soccer scored with a minute to go to notch a 1-0 victory over a KUA team that beat us 9-1 a few weeks ago. Having accomplished that, they ran up to field hockey to cheer the girls on with a tightly executed "wave."
Then 99 boys and 13 girls tore off into the woods as we hosted the league cross-country championships. Fans--still delirious with the soccer victory--spread about the football field (for the finish) or dashed up the trails to cheer the harriers. Suddenly, senior Adrian Maldonado emerged onto the field and sprinted--with no one in sight--to a 30 second win with our own Sixto Alonso in second! PA won both boys' and girls' championships; JV field hockey subsequently beat Holderness 3-2, and fans went home happy and emotionally spent.
This morning's assembly was given over to actor Richard Garey, who does a super job bringing Mark Twain to life.
