Adolescents crave structure.
From 8 to 10PM the Learning Skills hallways and Learning Lab classroom atop the Learning Center become Structured Study Hall. Last night it was my turn to run it. The dozen or so attendees are impossible to catagorize. Some, like the highly motivated young woman at the right, have self-incarcerated for the quiet, structured environment. Others have been sentenced to endure my harsh presence against their will. Below, Eddie, Lucia and Abbie are more excited than most at the prospect of starting their homemwork.
Then there's Dave, who started in strong fashion, but failed to make it back to his seat after a potty break.
He explained that exhaustion from the football game overcame him unexpectedly. Good enough for me.
