Before Proctor Pond was dredged out and landscaped, it was a boggy rectangle that was flooded for ice hockey. In this 1967 image, a Shepherd has no trouble following the puck:

Today the dog, boards and Cary House are gone, but nets are in place for a game of shinny.

Boys's varsity returned from break early for a tournament up at Kents Hill School, and a few checked out the natural ice at the rink:

Students return by 7:30 tonight. In the meantime, The Blackwater is hosting a USSA Junior Olympic jumping event, attracting a colorful crowd.
