First Snow
12/9/2001

The calendar says we're into the second week of winter term, but the weather has been springlike. Saturday morning's temps were in the 20s, so we fired up the compressors and started making snow over at the ski hill.

By Sunday morning the campus was transformed by several inches of wet snow, and tikes were sledding on the hill behind Morton House.

All of which reminds me! Bostonians: Head for The Hill!

Tuesday evening around 6:30, a purposeful crowd of young Proctor faculty will burst through the doors of The Hill Tavern on 228 Cambridge Street expecting to be greeted by a throng of of spirited alumni, friends and well-wishers. I'll be there, too. Hill Gatherings are always a riot, with lots of unexpected--even shocking--things happening. See you there!

View from Johnson House Saturday. Note the smudge of man-made snow at the bottom of the ski area.
Same view this morning. Note snow everywhere.
Liam saw something amazing at The Hill last year.
English teacher Laurie Zimmerman saw it, too. Come find out for yourself....
