The football team crushed Hyde School Saturday, to finish 7-1; "the best record in fifty years" according to the Concord Monitor.

Spence Wright came to Proctor fifty years ago, became Director of Athletics, and retired with Lyle Farrell, Ernest Sherman, and others in 1971. A resident of Middlebury, VT, Spence (left) was here for the Corporation Board meeting Saturday, and enjoyed the football game with Curt Peterson '62.

Quarterback Chris Corsiglia heaves a 30-yard pass on the run:

If you head north from Proctor and climb Ragged Mountain, you eventually enter the "Baxter Land" a 704-acre parcel that includes Balanced Rock, The Bulkhead, and the valley extending east to Proctor's Philbrick Pasture. It's striped yellow (top) on this trail map, with the Blackwater River and Main St. on the bottom:

On Saturday, the Board of Trustees voted to purchase the Baxter Land over three years, thereby linking the school's land holdings, protecting our northern boundaries, and increasing our property to approximately 3000 acres!
