Family Weekend
4/21/2007

The croaking of wood frogs.... Spring arrived in time for Family Weekend, and Monday's flood seems a distant memory. Parents attended classes Friday morning.

Kayla's mom, who is experienced in the art, takes her blood pressure in biology.

I don't believe that the results of these pressure readings are cause for alarm; blood pressures may be elevated in classrooms with parents!

In chem, Rebecca and Madde complete a circuit of lab experiments.

In U.S. history, Johnny and Danny present their solution to the nation's Social Security and Medicare funding crises.

After assembly, while teams practiced, some parents chose a tour of the Mountain Classroom facility at Elbow Pond or, pictured here, a hike up to Mud Pond.

Polar swim, a long tradition at Proctor, appeals to visiting parents. At 6:45 AM, already wet from a plunge, Daniel stokes the sauna stove at Elbow Pond.

A mom's presence can provide you a little lift.
In morning assembly, Terry Stoecker invites visitors to an open dress rehearsal of Guys And DollsFriday evening.
After two classes and assembly, teachers scatter to afternoon parent/teacher conferences.
Some students are free during conferences. Jeremy has a trick. He pulls a surgical glove over his head, breathes in his mouth and exhales through his nose to create this alien effect.
Polar swims happened both Friday and Saturday mornings. The optional "pre-dip" before sauna provides the toughest challenge.
From the distance provided by my lens, it appears that the shock is worse than anticipated.
Head of School Mike Henriques took the plunge!
