It is another glorious late summer day here in Andover. There's some excitement up at the tennis courts construction site, where the foreman is operating the big Cat shovel in place of Jim.

No, Jim didn't show this morning. Seems he bought the right lottery ticket at the Andover Mini Mart over the weekend and has to figure out what to do with a little more than thirty million dollars. So he's busy.

Anyone want to by a ticket?

Adjectives used to describe Jim have included "ornery" and "cantankerous." Not this morning, though. I heard one of his chums recalling a heroic tale from Jim's term in Korea; another close friend went so far as to use the descriptor "generous." Was he generous when he bagged $100,000 on a ticket a few years ago? No one could recall for certain.....Trustee Weekend is coming right up, though. In fact, I think the Governance Committee may be called into session Saturday morning......And just what IS Jim's last name?

Spanish teacher Gregor Makechnie '90 is a great mimic, and has Tom Eccleston down. Here he is regaling assembly this morning.
