Bring 'em on!
9/5/2000

Under clear fall-like skies, Registration Day brings the families of 127 new students to us this year....the largest new population--I believe--in Proctor history. They are excited, nervous, and nearly hysterical.

They are greeted by admission personnel, Steve, and others at the library. Anxieties are lessened by the tedium of mundane tasks: laundry sign-up, health forms, leaving cash at the B.O.

After lunch, orientation groups are announced. At first, parents stay with their child's group for an initial get-acquainted meeting and some new games. Then, in true ritualistic fashion (we've being doing this for more than 25 years) we gather in a large circle:

Then we sit down.

Traditions!

Admission folk Michele Koenig and Chris Bartlett read out orientation groups at lunch.
Steve Wilkins delivers a humorous introduction. That bulldozer behind him is up at the new tennis courts.
