The dining room was a riot this morning, as 300 students are back for the start of Project Period. Conceived thirty years ago, this program brings students and teachers into relatively intense small group learning experiences for five days at the start of spring term. More than thirty-five projects are running; students signed up for their choices over Thanksgiving. Here's a group packing up for five days in Montreal and Quebec.
Project Period is funded through tuition. About half of them are on campus, including: Signing, Vaudeville, Ceramics, Digital Video, Kenpo, Quilting, Maple Sugaring, Fly Tying, NH Audubon and Yoga. Vans are also departing this morning for: Rock-climbing, Battleship Maintenance, X/C Ski Touring, Boston, North Carolina Kayaking, Maine Coast, Martha's Vineyard and New England Museums.
I am a part of the latter project, and hope to post images from several projects on this site as they are e-mailed to me from various locales. Stay tuned.
