The hallmark of David Fowler's 23 years as Head was democratization of the community witnessed by open-forum faculty meetings and open-forum whole-school assemblies. For 29 years, the latter gatherings were held in Holland Auditorium. Today marks a new chapter in Proctor history, as we convened for the first time in the Norris Family Theater of the yet-to-be-named Meeting House.
Those who know are already claiming it is the finest small theater in New Hampshire. The atmosphere today was charged and effervescent. English teacher John Pendleton, former Chair of the Board of Trustees and parent of John '85 and Brigham '88, set a serious tone by clarifying the school's commitment to personal respect.
Other announcements informed us of a mouse loose in the computer lab, some stuff stolen from a locker, the creation of a student activist discussion group at dinner, and the imminent arrival of Karl Methven's and Diane Fowler's yet-to-be-named son.
Then it was over. A new era has begun!
