Begoggled
1/29/2003

Maybe it's the experiential thing, but our students are frequently begoggled. Think of the electives that are going to require eye protection: woods team, boat building, woodshop, metal shop, forestry, almost all sciences... it goes on. This morning, ninth grade science erupted three model volcanoes: a cinder cone, a shield and a conglomerate, demonstrating the relative viscosities of the lava emanating from each of the types.

Goggles find use in safer, more controlled environs, too. Here, in advanced math, Jake maintains protection from chill drafts and any unguided equations.

Vinegar and baking soda are modified to various viscosities with household additives.
My goodness! Thar she blows!
That was just like a cinder cone!
Re-enacting the eruption for teacher Mike Walsh.
Metal shop.
This is something else completely: juniors Jeff and Steven before chemistry.
