Time out.
The first two weeks of August are the quietest of the year. By the new moon, the faculty room will be lighted and occupied, busy with the bustle of prep work and conversation. Today, however, Maxwell Savage is cool, dark and generally vacant. It's too hot out. Lawns are burning in the heat; we need rain. Like many, I'm spending some time away now. In a way, this is yet another "end of the year." When we return we'll be cranking up. At this juncture I'm looking forward to the next evolution of Proctor's website, which promises to keep us in a leadership position in this industry, and I thank the extraordinarily diverse population of Chuck's Corner readers--starting with my siblings and a few old pals--for encouragement as I create these silly things.
