Advanced Thinking from WOW!.

Conferences for fund raisers usually invite pros to speak about whatever....

WOW! INstitute was different: the leaders (Proctor's Development Office bolstered by other major talent) agree on a whole set of principles for philanthropy in the 21st C. Therefore, we're able to teach a new, 3-D model with reinforcement and confidence.

We live in a world teeming with affluent philanthropists. Their material needs met, they generate meaning for their lives by trying to improve the world. If a fund raiser is knowledgeable and skilled, s/he provides a huge service to a donor by providing an opportunity to make a difference in a manner that is wholly shaped by the donor's preferences. Aware of the philanthropists passions, values, style and tastes, we can be direct, honest, and efficient. When the best "ask" is done, and the development officer says "Thank you," the donor responds "No, thank you."

Traditional strategies for annual fund drives and campaigns involve hierarchic management structures..."call captains" prodding volunteers to call their lists in the quest for higher participation. It's a numbers game. Ask enough and you'll win eventually. This is wasteful and no fun for anyone. Let's think of a completely different concept....one that is highly efficient, fun and satisfying.
