We are returning from a week of small group projects (see the last two pages, archived at right). Images are coming in from some of the off campus projects. These are from a dogsledding expedition in the Allagash region of northern Maine, operated through an outfitter called Song In the Woods.
This was a project for those of us who love winter, snow and clear nights with brilliant stars. It was also a project for those who love dogs. Students cared for and fed their team of huskies. The dogs rewarded them by pulling them to places few see.
The lack of snow throughout most of New England this winter made it necessary for this group to go much farther north than previous mushing projects, but no one is complaining.
The good news is that they had access to a comfortable cabin!
