Assembly Madness
12/18/2002

Yesterday's assembly was the last one for three weeks, and provided plenty of the chaos we've come to expect of these all-community gatherings. First of all, Sue Rochon divied out Christmas presents to her advisees, causing rancor with surrounding groups (like my own) that receive nothing but love.

Then the school band took the stage and belted out that classic favorite for this Christian holiday, "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus."

When it was all over, my advisee Mo sat at the grand piano and restored some sanity to the proceedings.

Then the faculty chorus rehearsed for tonight's holiday thing. We decided not to try singing the tunes we don't know well at all, so we're down to "Hark How the Bells" and an obscure Russian tune that has an ending we can't figure out. We're not making any CDs.

Panic crested when it appeared that Tom Eccleston was going to tickle the ivories.
Anna had to excuse herself during announcements when her dog began barking.
When the faculty chorus stepped forward to rehearse on stage, Mo commandeered my camera and took a series of unflattering images.
These are the basses.
Tenors.
