Proctor is hosting the Sustainable Schools Conference this week.
We are honored to be hosting representatives from ten schools at The Sustainable Schools Conference this week. The program includes a great deal of sharing from participants as they explore how campuses can be environmentally friendly and responsible.
Whole group sessions are held in the atrium of the Fowler Learning Center.
Proctor's contingent includes Steve Wilkins, Chris Norris, Patrice Martin, Judy Preston, Bob Day, Bill Matuvelich, and recently-married Sarah (Rowe) MacIntire '90--shown silouetted at the front above--who is returning to Proctor to teach Biology this year.
The conference began with Proctor's Director of Facilities Will Ames providing a campus tour, in which he highlighted our energy saving efforts (all flourescent lighting, control of the steam plant, dormitory insulation, and--of course--the Eco-Dorm).
The air conditioner for the Learning Center is shielded from view by evergreens. Only a few feet away, Proctor Pond is graced by a Great Blue Heron.
