Over the River
11/14/2002

Today's rant is a shameless plug for Proctor Drama's fall production of Joe DiPietro's Over the River and Through the Woods, directed by our own Michael Littman, which plays Friday and Saturday night at 7:30 in the Norris Family Theater. Last night's pre-dress rehearsal featured acting that was passionate, believable, and focused. Below, Dan plays a 30-something bachelor visiting grandparents in Hoboken.

The cast is comprised of Proctor stage veterans, and it shows. But it's not talent and skills that catch you in this production, it is the level of work that they choose to apply to their roles. It's all relationship in this Italian-American family, but the rules are changing. The players pull it off with intensity and emotion; you can smell the cooking from a warm kitchen.

Dress rehearsal is tonight at 7:30. Congratulations to everyone involved. Last night, they accepted plaudits from the happy handful present.

Eva and Dan as Caitlin and Nick.
Kyler as a grandfather struggling with the times.
Proctor veteran actors bringing it all together.
