Years ago the Conway School of Design did a landscape plan for Proctor as a student exercise. I think it was free. Someone had the idea of planting fruit trees in the vale between the pond, Carr House, and the fieldhouse. Today, the center of campus is a flowering orchard.
Last night we held the Spring Formal at nearby Eagle Pond Lodge. Being as informal as we are, the notion of really dressing up is a treat for about 130 dance goers. Here's Matt and a date:
Every student who attended Proctor between 1973 and 1981 remembers Bob Kmen vividly. Opinionated, outspoken and sometimes bombastic, Bob infuriated opponents by firing a 12-guage cannon every time men's soccer scored a goal....and it seemed we scored a lot of them under coach Kmen. Yesterday his St. George's JV lacrosse team--which has lost one league game since 1994--whipped St. Paul's, and I took my camera. He hasn't changed a bit.
Pressed Oxford shirt (heavy starch)...Dartmouth tie. Bob plans to compete for Costa Rica this summer in senior tennis.
