The Band comes and goes.
5/5/2001

For several years, we've noticed a tendency for Proctor athletic teams to notch more wins later, rather than earlier, in the year. Once again, for example, boys and girls lacrosse teams dominated teams from Wolfeboro today. Erstwhile pine-riders saw plenty of action.

Cheering the boys varsity were Head Steve Wilkins (father of Nick '02), trustee Bill Wise '39, and Annual Giving Guy Greg Samaha '71.

A gentleman of few words, Bill lives a simple life. He prefers to act on--rather than talk about--his convictions. For example, he has demonstrated his love for his alma mater in a manner that will benefit this school forever. We will always be grateful to Bill Wise for his commitment to Proctor.

The long-awaited performance of the rock band Professor Louie and the Chromatix proved to be a debacle. A decision was made to proceed with an outdoor concert, but as they set up between Slocumb and the pond, it suddenly became clear that the sun was going to set.

Temperatures plummeted....they played a whole set for a handful of adults and a few teens passing by on skateboards....packed up...and left.

Lacrosse won big over Brewster today.
The Band froze while a waxing gibbous moon rose over Maxwell Savage.
