Somewhere along the line, adolescents and adults seized control of Halloween. No longer do little children wait for nightfall to plunder and vandalize neighborhoods. Today, tikes in preschool are dragged around to campus offices in broad daylight: bewildered, exhausted, rapidly ascending a hyperglycemic rollercoaster that renders them unable to function when darkness falls.
