While school is on vacation and I'm exploring lower latitudes, I have redated a few of my favorite Corners for your entertainment. This one appeared in October, when we purchased 700 acres of land on Ragged mountain.
It turns out that the logging operation on the Baxter Land finished two years ahead of schedule, and the owners want to sell it ASAP. The plan was for Proctor to purchase this 705-acre parcel over the next three years, but now we need to find the cash or risk having "Proctor View Condominiums" looming above our north border. In preparation for trustee consideration of funding the purchase, the Woodsmen's Team took me up Ragged Mountain for a set of photos documenting the stunning views and how hard everyone has been working. Here's Aaron pointing down into the Blackwater River Valley from high atop Ragged. Carr Field is the green patch:
This is a zoom image of Bradley Lake and Proctor's Blackwater Ski Area from the Baxter Land.
The Woodsmen's Team is a proud outfit. They've been spending their afternoons hauling bales of hay up hill--as much as 1/2 mile--to mulch newly seeded embankments and stumped areas for soil conservation.
