Mini-Me
10/24/2002

I spend Wednesday afternoons with an eleven-year-old "little brother" who's in the sixth grade. His name is Kevin, but I call him "Mini-Me." Below, Mini-Me shows Patty Pond's daughter Caroline how to operate a digital camera:

Kevin's learning a lot of lessons about the pitfalls of freelance photography. In the image below, he captures the emotions of people who do not expect--or want--to be photographed:

In the image below, Emilie holds a pumpkin with a Proctor hornet carved in ornate fashion for the field hockey team:

Mini-Me frames his subject, focuses, and shoots.
Perhaps he aimed a little high with this shot.
Kevin was delighted with this image which captures the ball in flight.
We all know that resentful subjects can resort to violence.
