Anarchy In the Streets
10/16/2002

Three students announced the creation of an exciting new on-campus organization yesterday in assembly: NNEAA. Henry, Josh, and Maksym (born in the Ukraine, I believe) are the founders of the Northern New England Anarchists Alliance.

Today's anarchist isn't a bomb-chucking nihilist, we were informed. No, these are "peace loving intellectuals" dedicated to freedom. I don't know the political suasion of the hundreds of placard-bearing protesters who marched down Cambridge Street in Boston last night, but those of us huddled in the Hill Tavern for an alumni reception chose to stay put.

The politics of our Hill Gathering attendees are easier to surmise. Below we see Whit Hill '92 (conservative) engaged with an unidentified guest with a large hand while Alison Tetler '95 gestures (four more years?).

Sam (in assembly) leans right...or is it his left?
Dan Cutler (left) is reactionary. Adam Nelson is enlisting in the Navy.
I'm going to take a wild guess that Cat Ehlen '91 (right) is a Republican. Drew Donaldson '92 is off the scale politically.
Anthony Robinson, shown chatting with Lida Beaudoin, strongly supported the protesters in the street, but not for political reasons. He manages a cleaning service, and was hoping they were making a mess.
