While Chuck is away on vacation, we're bringing back the most popular Chuck's Corners. This one, from last April, is entitled Distinctive Plumage.

The Eastern Bluebird is making a comeback in New England, and sightings of its distinctive plumage are welcome signs of spring.

From Segovia we receive this image of our flock preening in new outer wear.

Flamingoes get their coloration by eating lots of shrimp, empirical demonstration of the adage "You are what you eat." Another example comes from Jamison Stone, who migrated to campus after vacation with distinctive plumage apparently prompted by lots of that sugary blue slush we dispense in the dining room.

These are called Blue Bird boxes. I have lots of them nailed to trees in my back yard. They should be called Chipmunk boxes.
This bluebird was sighted in front of Shirley Hall yesterday.
After vacations, we observe displays of bright, new, seasonal plumage.
Annie returned for spring with scarlet coiffure.
