A week from now systems will be churning with the start of Proctor 2002-03. Today, however, campus is still in summer mode. Yes... in just a few days, that deep sense of anxiety that comes with end-of-summer—a kind of psychic indigestion—will be undeniable. Sure, the map in the Faculty Room plotting each Orientation group’s track through the White Mountains is criss-crossed with highlighting ink….
And it is true that the Bookstore is receiving packages of stuff for students who will arrive in about three weeks.
And Todd Goings is prepping Carr Field for the soccer season.
And the Student Activities Office had the gall to distribute a calendar entitled "Opening of School." Still, lights are dim and desks are vacant in the Faculty Room, and all of that will change....very soon.
