WOW! 2
7/9/2002

Last year at this moment, a revolution in philanthropy was born at the foot of Pat's Peak in "the only Henniker on Earth." Today we commence the second WOW! Institute, and there's no doubt that this industry will be changed forever. Perhaps the day will come when Class Agents no longer call to pester you to increase participation in a campaign or annual fund for another 50 bucks. Instead, those precious resources will be dedicated to customizing relationships with the philanthropists who we know will make all of the difference. Before I go any further with this rant, here is a picture of Jay Goulart molesting me at dinner last night:

O.K. The point is not that we don't love all of us who give 50 bucks. That's why I write this stuff: to keep Proctor Nation entertained and feelin' the love. But what counts is that we focus our energies on the school being honest about itself: our core values, our mission, acting on our principles. That's what will make our dreams come true (and God knows, they have been coming true at Proctor.)

Michael Toth P'00 spoke to the WOW! crowd this evening at the mountaintop at what has become our first tradition, and his words were exacting: branding is about knowing yourself and acting on that knowledge.

Stay tuned for realtime updates from WOW!
