Signs of Spring.

I understand the vernal equinox occured at 8:36 this morning. This provides another opportunity for the media to sensationalize everyday phenomena: there's a ton of snow still on the ground, and it's spring. We are lead to believe that this is very weird. It is not. When it comes to climate, what we think is abnormal is usually very normal. Of course, it is impressive how deep the snow is after four sunny days. For Thaddeus Bicknell and his pals, a plowdrift provides a perfect slide during recess at preschool:

Project Period begins Monday, and it is time to install a new evaporator in the sugar house. Dave Pilla is fitting fire brick into the arch (right). The new evaporator pans are to the left.
